After not picking up my camera as much as I would have liked last year, I’m back into photography again with a real passion.

Over the last 18 years my photography has gone in peaks and troughs. I’m guessing it happens to many photographers. There are times when I actually get a bit bored with photographing boobs, bums and beautiful faces, and I go off to photograph lighthouses or fishing boats instead, or I put my camera gear away and don’t touch it for months.

The good news is that I’ve had quite a few photoshoots recently and have several more already booked. The only issue now is finding enough time to edit and post-process all the images, but it’s a nice problem to have. In between all this I’m watching video after video on Youtube and Vimeo about glamour photography, boudoir photography, portraits, headshots, posing, lighting and post-processing. After all these years I still enjoy learning new things.

So, I finally got around to editing some photographs from my last shoot with professional glamour model Roxy Mendez and thought I’d share them with you. I really enjoyed working with Roxy. She’s a total professional, who knows how to pose and to ‘work the camera’. It made my job much easier being able to bounce ideas off someone who is so experienced.

It was a location shoot, and what a location. The house was huge. With hindsight, and looking through all the hundreds of images of this set and the others taken, I don’t feel that I used as much of the location as I could have done, but then there’s always something that I could have done differently on each shoot.

The lighting for this red lingerie set was pretty simple. I used two Elinchrom studio flash units. The main light from the front was fitted with a large softbox. A back light was fitted with a bare reflector dish and barn-doors and used to add some hair and rim lighting onto Roxy.
