With these images of glamour model Jay I was going for a very high key, almost blown out look. I just thought it would suit the styling.

Jay is wearing a white body suit and training shoes and I had her lie on a couch that I had disguised with a white fabric throw. I have a large bag of fabrics that I can use for different backdrops.

I kept the lighting very simple. Just one studio flash unit fitted with a beauty dish (diagram below). The beauty dish gives soft light, similar to a softbox, but with a slightly harder ‘edge’ to it. Perfect for fashion or glamour photography with a bit of ‘attitude’.

I gave Jay some direction, but also the freedom to do her own thing. I love the looks she gives and the way she plays to the camera.

In RAW processing I’ve pushed the exposure up. Too bright? Maybe, but I like the effect.
