With a location photoshoot you sometimes have some nice surprises that can add interesting elements to your photographs.  Given the choice now, I much prefer a location shoot than a studio shoot.  Before unpacking all your gear it’s worth having a scout around the venue to assess which areas will make for interesting images.  Look for colours, shapes, textures, props, light, shadows, etc.

I was on location with Kimberley, photographing her in a house and I noticed that one of the rooms had an interesting striped wallpaper on one wall, which I thought would complement the swimsuit that she had brought.  I liked the fact that the colours were quite complementary and that it also added some pattern composition elements to the picture, with the shapes in the swimsuit.

The shot is a very simple one, but I feel that it works quite well.  Feel free to comment.
