‘She’s got nothing on but the radio’
A song from one of my favourite musical artists – Swedish pop duo Roxette. The title is a reference to a 1952 quote by Marilyn Monroe on her posing nude for a calendar shoot, in which she reportedly said “It’s not true I had nothing on. I had the radio on.”
I thought it a fitting title for this fun shoot with glamour model Michelle Monroe, who is a big fan of Marilyn. We did the shoot in Michelle’s home and these were the last few images taken at the end of the shoot, in the bathroom. I really enjoyed photographing Michelle as she can run through a whole range of looks and emotions and knows how to perform for the camera.
By the way, having some music playing during a photoshoot is a great way to help the model relax. If you’re planning a studio shoot you can ask the model to bring along some of her favourite music with her.

Hi Paul,
Nice typography! I really like the way you’ve included words with these images. It gives them quite a strong advertising feel. Well done with lighting the tiles too. I bet it was quite tricky managing the reflections.
Thanks for your comment Brian. I can’t take any credit for the typography – the writing is part of the decoration in her bathroom. It was there and I thought it would make a good addition to the image.
The lighting was just one softbox but yes, you have to watch out for too much glare or reflection.
Many thanks
Paul
Fantastic images, Paul; and a lovely surprise to see them. You’ve certainly got an eye for a good shot!
