You know you’re getting older when you start having to wear glasses for reading.  I suppose it comes to us all eventually.  Browsing for glasses in the opticians and looking at all the posters it reinforced my view that some people, and women in particular, just look so good when wearing glasses.

I think when I was growing up spectacles were often seen as a bit of a joke.  Now they are a must-have fashion accessory for many people – different styles, colours and designer labels.

In glamour photography the portrayal of girls in glasses seems to have fallen into two camps.  Firstly, you have the relatively modern phenomenon of the ‘Geek’ with her thick framed glasses and sassy attitude; and then you have the classic ‘femme fatale’ or ‘sexy secretary’ who can entice any man by slowly letting her hair down whilst staring seductively at him over the top of her glasses.  As a glamour photographer I have enjoyed photographing both genres.  Do you have a preference?
